Sometimes the way I meet my couples feels completely unexpected—and this one started with a simple comment.
This sweet couple had just moved to San Antonio and were in the middle of searching for the perfect place to get married. They shared a video asking for recommendations, and somehow, it landed on my TikTok feed. I left a comment suggesting a venue I thought would fit what they were looking for—nothing elaborate, just a genuine recommendation from someone who knows and loves this area.
A little while later, they reached back out to tell me they had toured the venue… and booked it.
It’s one of those moments that reminds me how even the smallest interactions can turn into something meaningful.
Not long after, their friend connected with me and shared that she wanted to gift them an engagement session as they settled into this new season and new city. Truly one of the most thoughtful gifts—and of course, I said yes.
We decided on a morning session at The Pearl District in San Antonio, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The Pearl in the early hours has this quiet, refined energy—soft light pouring in between the buildings, slower movement, and space to actually breathe and be present together. It felt like the city was gently waking up alongside them.
There was something really special about documenting them here, in a place that’s becoming part of their everyday life. You could feel the newness of it all—the excitement, the adjustment, the way they leaned into each other as they found their footing in a new place.
From a TikTok comment to a booked venue, to a gifted engagement session in their new city—it all came together in a way that felt effortless and meaningful.
San Antonio has a way of turning new beginnings into something beautiful, and getting to capture the start of their story here was such an honor.
